Campus Quiz Results - Rohtak – BITS register record win
On a chilly Sunday afternoon close to 200 people walked in for the Rohtak edition of Crucible. With students from Roorkee, Panipat, Sonepat, Pilani and Dehradun, all travelling to Rohtak the contest was expected to be tough. A very good standard prelim set the ball rolling as teams went google hunting the moment the prelim was over to see if they had written the right answers.
The finalists were:
- IIM Rohtak: Sahil Wadhwa and Mandeep Singh
- BITS Pilani: Utsav Kumar and Samarth Agrawal
- IIT Roorkee: Abhinav and Mohit Garg
- IIM Rohtak: Prashanth and Abhishek Anand
- BITS Pilani: Aditya Lakshman and Sreejan Shandilya
- IIT Roorkee: Harsimran K and Varun Arasu
The final seemed a close fight for the first couple of rounds as IIT-R (Abhinav and Mohit) took quick strides to get ahead but were soon followed by BITS (Aditya and Sreejan). As the quiz moved into the second half, the BITS duo started dominating the quiz, question by question to establish a very good lead.
The teams from IIM and IIT and the other BITS team did their bit to try and catch up but the game suddenly seemed beyond them. In the final frontier when the battle seemed merely academic the quizmaster Pickbrain threw a twist and said ‘the only team with a 100 this year was IMT Ghaziabad’ and BITS were then on 95. They took it as a challenge with nothing to lose and on the final question got themselves to 105, a record score for Rohtak and Campus Crucible 13.
