Questa wins AMD thriller

Ahmedabad, September 5, 2007: The air at Ahmedabad wore a festive look a day after Janmashtami with streets leading to the IIM auditorium decorated with flowers as if to welcome you to the quiz. On the dot at 6pm the prelims commenced with the opening music and as always, at Ahmedabad, it was a high scoring prelim.

The top six teams on stage were Triton Communication, Mudra, Questa Software, Standard Chartered Bank, Torrent, and Vodafone Essar.

The final was an absorbing battle. The teams cracked some seemingly impossible posers thrown around by Pickbrain, with ease. The quiz looked like going Questa’s way with just one level left but Mudra came up with some outstanding answers in the final moments of the quiz. With one 15 point question remaining, the score line read- Questa 70, Mudra 60 and the battle was far from over.

On the final question (which was about Go Daddy) Mudra hit the buzzer and went for the kill but got it wrong and the team from Questa heaved a sigh of relief to have made it to the national final yet again.

Kudos to Ahmedabad for an evening of great quality quizzing.
