The Pune edition of Tata Crucible was an absolute cliff hanger that went right down to the final question and proved to be a great advert for an amazing business quizzing city and a respected destination for education in India.
The final started on a cautious note with teams not deploying the power play and choosing to accumulate the runs without risks. The two Symbiosis Law teams and AFMC got off to good starts with Sachin and Raghav in the lead as the quiz quickly moved into the buzzer phase.
A couple of good strikes on the world of Tatas saw Neel and Shruttima narrow the gap with their college mates while Poona Inst. of Mgmt (Raghunandan and Gorkshnath) bounced back with a good answer in the Third Umpire zone. With barely a couple of rounds left the pressure unfolded and the two Symbiosis teams committed unforced errors to lose the ground they had gained.
This set the stage for a fantastic final over. Poona Inst. of Mgmt took the risk early on in the final over and scored a super six to get ahead of Neel and Shruttima and backed it with a good stroke on the final ball to get past Sachin and Raghav to clinch the title.
