Campus Quiz Results - Hyderabad – ICAI wins Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Feb 03, 2008:It was an ultimate battle of brains at the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2008 where 170 teams from over 50 colleges across the State participated in the Hyderabad round on Saturday. The students were with sheer energy and excitement while quiz master Giri Balasubramaniam kept the atmosphere energised by ‘Nano Quizzing’, where the Crucible champion is said to be like the word Nano – one in a billion.

The business quiz covered a lot of aspects from science and technology to advertisements and people. The students also had their share of fun amidst some serious quizzing. The contest got everyone involved not just the contestants. Whenever the contesting teams weren’t able to answer a question, it was passed to the student audience who won a goody bag every time they came up with the right answer.

Wild card entry A wild card entry to the final round was the team from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) that comprised of N. Aditya and Anirudh Janak.

Little did they know that they would win the Hyderabad round by a large margin, leaving behind the team from ICFAI Hyderabad and Indian School of Business, who stood second and third respectively.

The winning team, N. Aditya and Anirudh Janak were given a cash prize of Rs.60, 000 and an all expense paid trip to the finals.

The runners up, Shashank and Satish from ICAFI put up a tough competition and were given Rs.30,000 as the second prize. Chitra Raghunath and Vishwanath Chavali from Indian School of Business bagged the third prize.

V. Rajanna, General Manager and Regional Head, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., was the chief guest at the event.

“We never knew we would win the Hyderabad round,” says N. Aditya. “But now we are expecting a tough competition at the finals in Mumbai,” adds his teammate, Anirudh Janak.

The winners are all set to participate in the national finals that will be held in Mumbai on March 17, where regional finalists from 12 cities of the country will compete.
