The city of Bengaluru has perhaps won more Tata Crucible titles than any other in India. Given the cluster of highly competent educational institutions and the presence of a large IT and service sector the talent here has always been a benchmark for knowledge sports. This year was no different as students from the top engineering and management institutes from across the state qualified for the wild cards. Quiz host MS Rashmi Furtado set a brisk pace as she quizzed these youngsters and identified the top 6 for the cluster final. They were:
The finale witnessed Bengaluru bred quiz master Pickbrain in command and at his best as he grilled the contestants with one question after another. The quiz was extremely close with everyone having a fair chance to win even as the quiz entered the last round. While Pratyush who had built up an early lead from IIM Bangalore played safe to win the title, it looked like a second place battle between Aryan and Suvidha. It was however a stunning comeback by Manjunath of RVCE that stole the thunder from the others has he emerged runner-up with brilliant consecutive answers.
The chief guest Mr.Sunil Deshpande, Head of operations, TCS Bangalore, congratulated the contestants on our fantastic performance while advising them to have an open mind and be prepared for tomorrow to be very different from what yesterday would be.
