Campus Quiz Results - Chennai – IIT Madras script huge win
Over 200 teams and for the first time this year, two prelims had to be held to accommodate all participants. An interesting set of questions and a quick volley of wild card rounds and we were in for the Chennai final.
The finalists were:
- CEO Guindy: Subramanian and Vikram
- Jerusalem College of Engg: Ms.Anu and Karthikeyai
- SVCE: Tejdeep and Ms.Varshasri
- IFMR: Nikhil and Rakesh
- Great Lakes Inst of Mgmt: Prateek and Ravisekar
- IIT Madras: Shivraj Singh and Vishnu J
The final started with the duo from Jerusalem College and SVCE making initial strides and as the quiz moved into the next rounds IIT Madras produced a burst of deadly answers to get to a huge lead in quick time. From there on they played the game with tremendous caution but kept adding to their kitty with no negatives or risks.
The battle then shifted to the second place with IIT beyond the reach of all teams. Jerusalem College, IFMR and SVCE all in with a great chance. The IFMR duo tried to push ahead and took a few negatives that knocked them back else they would have been in a great position to finish runner up.
Making no unforced errors and playing pragmatic, the SVCE team of Tejdeep and Varshasri ensured they won the second place. IIT Madras moving into the national finals with great confidence and a memorable victory.
The guest of honour Mr. Ananthakrishnan, the CTO of TCS, appreciated the youngsters for a great quiz and more importantly for being part of the culture of learning, sharing knowledge and building a more informed nation.
