Campus Quiz Results - Bhubaneswar – Bhilai Steel bags Bhubaneshwar

Bhubaneshwar, August 27, 2007: If one thought Bhubaneshwar was a first time location for Tata Crucible and an easy city to win the quiz from, that would have been the most expensive assumption to make.

The quizzing acumen at this new destination for Crucible was so impressive that quizmaster Pickbrain appreciated the teams and said “Of the three new cities that we have been to so far (Chandigarh and Cochin being the other two) you folks stand tall, by far”. The prelim witnessed close to 50 teams despite a heavy downpour at the city. The teams scored as high as 19.

The six teams into the final were Infosys, Bhilai Steel Plant, Vizag Steel, SFM, Axis Bank and IBM. Teams from Posco, Cognizant and Nalco received a special mention for missing the final by a whisker.

The final was a true edge of the seat thriller, the lead positions changed with every question and round of the quiz. After an exciting series of rounds it was a seasoned team from Bhilai Steel Plant that won the crown and the trip to the national final with a young and energetic Infy team finishing runner up.

Mr.Sanjay Patnaik of Tata Steel, the guest of honour also appreciated the teams for the high quality of quizzing and gave away the prizes.
