Campus Quiz Results - Visakhapatnam – GITAM excels at Vizag
It felt like one was entering a stadium at Vizag with all the hoardings and posters welcoming the players. Match 13 of the 2019 Tata Crucible for campuses was underway at the GITAM campus. The quiz witnessed close to 1000 students thronging the auditorium with over 390 teams.
The prelim was held simultaneously in two adjacent venues to arrive at the top 10. Ms. Rashmi Furtado peppered the prelim with the right mix of clues and witty comments adding to the fun and excitement.

In the super over the legendary quizmaster, Pickbrain anchored the teams with crafty questions that led to a team each from IIM and Gitam making it to the top six.

The final witnessed a powerful performance from Gayatri Vidya Parishad who got off to a quick start with some good hits. They were followed by the IIMs who came up with some good answers but seemed reluctant to play at high values.
Starting slowly the duo from Gitam with Ashish and Syed, took their time but once they got their eye in, they grew in confidence. It reflected in their willingness to take half chances too. They were soon on par with the IIM and Gayatri team and crossed them with two huge sixes.
The Gayatri boys came back well but fell short of the Gitam duo by a whisker in the end. Gitam now qualifies to represent Vizag at the zonal rounds in Hyderabad.
The chief guest, Prof. Siva Rama Krishna, Vice Chancellor, GITAM University. He advised students to keep their eyes open to learning outside the classrooms as much as they did inside. Prof. Lakshmi Prasad, Principal GIT was also present.
