Titan and Yahoo win Bangalore

Bangalore, September 1, 2007: The Bangalore edition of Tata Crucible-The Business Quiz 2007, held at Nimhans Convention Hall, Bangalore, witnessed a world-class competition among 300 teams.

The Bangalore quiz was for both TATA and Non-TATA Track, which had a preliminary round and a hard-hitting final round. The TATA Track of the quiz can be summarized as “A Titanic battle between the Titans” with Titan Industries bagging the top two slots at Bangalore. The other teams on stage apart from 3 Titan teams were TCS (2 teams) and Tata Elxsi.

The finalists in the Non-TATA Track were I2 technologies, Ernst & Young, WYSE Techologies, Yahoo, Kotak Life and Ray and Keshavan Enterprise. Yahoo squeezed through to the National finals thrashing Ernst and Young in an eight-question tiebreaker round.

Pickbrain said, “The Bangalore qualifiers have been by far the best and most competitive. What makes this city so good is also the fact that, in the three years that the quiz has been around, there has not been a single team that has made it to the national finals twice from here…the competition here is really close.”
