Corporate Quiz Results - Essar Oil’s maiden win at Trivandrum
The Trivandrum edition of the quiz saw a lot of new teams this year reflecting on the growing interest for business quizzing and for Tata Crucible, specifically. A quiz prelim of 20 questions led to the final. The finalists were:
- Allianz: Dileesh Kumar and Jayanth Abraham
- Fortune IAS Academy: Munidarshan and Jose Thomas
- Modern Book Center: Anoop and Ms. Drushti Avarani
- Essar Oil: Jaishankar and Ajit Patel
- LIC of India: Krishna Raju and Ajimon Stanley
- State Bank of Travancore: Sreekanth Nair and Md. Riza
The final started with the teams from Modern Books, Essar and State Bank off to quick starts. As the quizmaster kept moving from one question to another, setting a brisk pace, the teams from LIC and Allianz also made progress.
The duo from Fortune Academy took chances that did not go their way and they took way too many negatives early on and could not recover from there despite brilliant answers in the latter half of the quiz.
As the quiz moved in to the final phases it was clearly a three team battle with Modern Books, State Bank and Essar Oil. The Oil giants took some bold steps and it helped them get past the clutter. The lead ensured they had to take less risks as they won the quiz for the first time. The State Bank team towards the end piped Modern Books for the runner up slot.
The guest of honour was the GM of Vivanta by Taj Trivandrum, Mr. Prasad who said he always felt ‘thrilled’ to see such brilliant teams and wished them well.
