Corporate Quiz Results - Chennai Silks sails through at Kovai
The Kovai (Coimbatore) edition of the quiz was a brilliant evening of quizzing laced with amazing questions, superb answers and a dash of humour that enlivened the entire event. A prelim of 20 questions and we were underway in quick time with the finalists.
The six finalists were:
- Robert Bosch : Ranjana Ninan and Rahul Narayanan
- Swadhist Foods : Vishal Vignesh and Arun Kumar
- Chennai Silks : Yogesh Pai and Arul Saravanan
- Bansali and Associates : Sheilendra Bhansali and Priya Bhansali
- Cognizant : Yagnyesh Hariharan and N Venkatesan
- Bureau Veritas : Kalai Selvam and P Saravanan
The final turned out to be one of the most absorbing battles that the city has witnessed in the past, as all teams produced stunning answers to move forward in a huddle. The early buzzer rounds also did not help the cause to separate the teams.
The lateral thinking round set the ball rolling as the Bureau Veritas team took their chances and established a lead over some very good teams from Bosch, Cognizant and the Bansali’s who here never missed qualifying at Coimbatore. Close on heals were the defending champions from 2009, Chennai Silks as they felt the pressure and even took a few negatives.
The final round placed all teams ‘technically’ in a position to win the quiz. As the quizmaster hurled the first poser, Chennai Silks took the gambit and cracked a 15 pointer to come back strongly. The next question was a quick blast for the defending champion as they got another right to turn the pressure back on the young Bureau Veritas duo.
The final question was a leather hunt for all teams as Chennai Silks intelligently chose to watch the fun ensuring their place in the national final yet again. Bureau Veritas finished runner up and were appreciated by the quizmaster for being a young team in the corporate final.
