ABOUT

Tata Crucible seeks to bring together the sharpest young minds to take on the heat of a tough business quiz. The Quiz made its debut in India in 2004 and successfully generated a huge response in the very first year itself. It has since become an annual event.

The Quiz is a part of the Tata group's engagement with the youth as a knowledge initiative to encourage lateral associations, speed of thought and out-of-the-box thinking as key aims.

The Tata Crucible Campus Quiz made its international debut with the Singapore edition in 2007. It offers Singapore's student community a unique opportunity to involve themselves with the subject of international business, in an engaging and intellectually stimulating manner. The 2010 edition saw strong participation from campuses across the city-state, including NUS, SMU, NTU, SIM, INSEAD, S P Jain Center of Management and others, with SMU taking the top place. The UK edition was launched successfully in 2008 and the 3rd edition saw the participation of over 20 leading UK universities.

In 2010, three teams from the Singapore Management University (SMU) emerged as the winners at the Tata Crucible Campus quiz, Singapore held on 29 October. Together they swept the top three prizes of this exciting business quiz. The SMU team of Abhishek Kumar and Nabil Rasheed and Runners-up Chang Weilong Ivan and Abbas Ali Mohamed Irshad were invited to compete in the international finals, held in Mumbai earlier this year (April 2011).

In the previous three editions, in order to broaden the scope of the event, the concept of the grand International Final was conceived as a face-off between the top two teams from Singapore, UK and India.

In 2011, the ICAI Bangalore team was the National Champions from India. London Business School emerged the overall International Champions of the Tata Crucible.
