Team from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College wins the South Zone finals of Tata Crucible Hackathon 2020
The South Zone finals of Tata Crucible Hackathon 2020 were held on August 13, 2020. 6 teams were shortlisted for the final presentations. Due to the ongoing pandemic all final events were held virtually, and teams presented their solutions online.
The jury for the finals comprised of Mr. Sadiq Basha M, Divisional Manager & Head of New Product Development, Innovation and Tool Manufacturing at TITAN, Mr. Irfan Malik, Co-Founder & CEO - inQ Innovation Global and Australia India Business Council- National Chair for Start-ups and Innovation and Mr. Suneel TS, General Manager Open Innovation and Mr. Shrinivas Kulkarni, Sr. Manager Open Innovation, both from the Tata Group Innovation Office.
The winning team from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Tamil Nadu comprised of JAGADEESH M, RISHI P, RIBI J, SANTHOSH KUMAR N and VIGNESH M who presented a solution for the challenge titled “Designer Solar Panel – Combine Aesthetics with Performance”. Their proposed solution was to use luminescent glass coating for giving the solar panel a more aesthetic look.
The runner up team from SARANATHAN COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING comprised of NISHA FRANCY, KIRTHIKA, BUVANESHWARI, MAHALAKSHMI and SHARVIN SHAKESH. They presented a solution for the two-wheeler safety challenge and proposed creating a DEFENDER Bike Management System which can control over speeding, give obstacle alert, detect whether rider is wearing helmet or not and such other features, which can all prevent an accident.
