The Eastern zonal featured eight outstanding champions from across the region, who had all won very credible victories in their cities. The zonal anchored by Pickbrain saw him raise the bar to a new level with questions that tested the very best.

At the end of the day NIT Rourkela missed the national final with some unforced errors that cost them dearly, while IIM Shillong played out some important hits to the end securing the runner up title and a place in the nationals.
