The education hub of Pune geared up over the weekend for its edition of Tata Crucible. A quick prelim and the quiz got interesting with the posers very aptly researched. The range consisted of questions from business in India, the world and a sprinkling of Pune too. The six finalists who made it were:
Army Inst. Of Tech.: Vineet and Sampuran
SIBM: Madhup Sagar and Karan Sood
AFMC: Anmol and Prabhav
AFMC: Pranjal Gupta and Archit Garg
SIIB: Dhruv Puri and Abhishek Pandey
SIBM: Ruchit and Paras Rishi
Champions, SIIB: Dhruv Puri and Abhishek Pandey
The finale was interesting and close from the very beginning. SIBM and the teams from AFMC got off to quick starts and were running close to one another with regular runs coming on the board. The teams from AIT and SIIB were slow to start but kept scoring as well.
It was a contest that saw multiple teams leading as all looked equally capable. With barely a few questions left, five teams were in the fray to win the Pune title. It was here that the duo from SIIB took their chances and came up with some brilliant strikes that took them into the western zonals.
SIBM on the strength of their early strikes were able to hold out the teams from AFMC and clinch the runner up title.
The guest of honour was Dr. Tarun Singhal, Associate Dean, Symbiosis International University. He appreciated the initiative as among innovative ways of creating constructive engagement between corporates and campuses.
