Model Engg. impress at Kochi

The city of Kochi happens to be one of the toughest locations for Tata Crucible since its introduction, observed quizmaster Pickbrain. He further stated it is because teams from Trivandrum, Kottayam, Vagamon, Trissur, etc., all take part here making it tough. The teams therefore seemed rather tense and tentative about the event. The prelim was a smooth quick fare and six finalists emerged to take the stage for the finale.

The finalists were:
  • NUALS Kochi: Rohit Balagopal and Niranjan Sudhir
  • CET Trivandrum: Divij Santosh and Sohail Nijas
  • GEC Trissur: Samuel Mani and J. Varghese
  • Govt. Medical College, Trissur: Akhil and Abhijith
  • Model Engineering College,Thrikkakara: Avinash Pai and Sachin
  • GEC Trissur: Govind and Abhijith

Champions, Model Engineering College,Thrikkakara - Avinash Pai and Sachin

The final started with the GEC teams blazing their way to a good start in quick time, but took some negatives, while the Model Engineering duo had a good start too but took no negatives.

The other teams scored in bursts but could not find too many opportunities on the buzzer with these two teams in a neck and neck battle. Model Engg. then came up with some really good strikes to build a strong lead. The team from NUALS in the meantime had closed in on the GEC duo to challenge them for the runner up title and did so successfully.

The guest of honour Dr. Radha Thevanoor, Director SCMS Group of Institutions spoke of the strength of knowledge with young India and aptly said 'Mera Bharat Mahaan'. She also handed over the cheques to the winning teams and wished them well in the next round.
